For the safety of all guests, we will be requiring full vaccination against COVID-19 for all in-person class attendees. We also reserve the right to require guests to wear masks while we are preparing the meal. Please see full details below.
Please note that for all classes purchased on or after January 3rd, 2022 we will be defining “full vaccination” as at least 2 shots of Pfizer, 2 shots of Moderna, or 1 shot of Johnson and Johnson plus 1 booster shot of either Pfizer or Moderna.
CLASS DETAILS
COVID-19 and Vaccination Policy
All participants at in-person classes must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Our regulations are as follows:
All in-person participants must show documentation of full vaccination (2 shots of Pfizer, 2 shots of Moderna, or 1 shot of Johnson & Johnson + a booster shot of either Pfizer or Moderna) by 48 hours before the class.
Documentation must show full vaccination (2 shots of Pfizer, 2 shots of Moderna, or 1 shot of Johnson & Johnson + a booster shot of either Pfizer or Moderna) 14 days prior to the class.
If any attendee is experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, even with vaccination, for the safety of all guests, they will not be allowed to attend the class in-person.
We also reserve the right to require all guests to wear masks while cooking, to be removed once drinks and the meal are served.
Signing Up
The sign-up link above will direct you to the registration page for this class, which will allow you to sign up through our booking system. If you have a gift certificate, there will be a place to enter your certificate information on that page. Your registration is official once you have received a confirmation email from our system (be sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see it). If you have signed up for a class and have not received a confirmation email, please email info@figcookingschool.com so we can help you out. Please also feel free to email us if you have any questions about the booking process.
Location & Parking
All of our classes are taught at our teaching kitchen at 42 Naugatuck Ave, Milford. You can park across the street or on any of the surrounding streets. Please do not park in the 15 minute zone directly in front of our building.
Cancellation
Fig classes and gift certificates are not refundable under any circumstance. Tickets are valid only for the event purchased and cannot be transferred to another event. Please think of this as buying a ticket for a show. We are a very small business and cannot stay in business if we do not have an accurate picture of who is coming to our classes. In the event that you cannot make your event, you are welcome to send a friend in your place. Should you miss your class and not send someone else in your place, we will automatically send you the recipe packet within several days.
Gifts
A Fig experience is a perfect gift for a friend, loved one, or business associate. However we strongly recommend buying gift certificates rather than signing up somebody for a class as a surprise, since this often results in schedule conflicts. Per our cancellation policy above, classes are non-refundable for any reason, and giving a gift certificate allows the recipient to choose a date that works for them, and avoid disappointment.
Dietary Restrictions
Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions. Many of our classes are vegetarian, or can be made vegetarian with small adjustments if we have advance notice, and we may be able to accommodate other restrictions if given prior notice. Please note that our kitchen is full of dairy, gluten, and nuts, and that we cannot accept responsibility for these or any other food allergies. Our kitchen is not Kosher.
Alcohol Policy
We will have a selection of wine, beer and spirits for sale to accompany your meal. Please note that we cannot open any alcohol until we have finished cooking and the meal is being served. As of January, 2019 none of our classes are BYOB.
The Meal
All classes come with a full meal, usually served once all food is prepared. We recommend having a hearty snack before you come so you’re not hungry while we cook the meal.
Arrival & Departure
Please make sure you are neither early nor late. Classes start promptly so that we have adequate time to prepare and sample all the dishes, but we cannot invite people in more than ten minutes early, as we are very busy doing important prep work needed so that the class runs smoothly.
Please note that end times are approximate, depending on the complexity of the food we are making (and because we are often having so much fun around the dinner table)! We encourage you to let babysitters know you may be home a little later, but if you are operating under a strict time constriction, please our staff know upon checking in so they can notify the teaching crew.
Inclement Weather Policy
We are committed to keeping our classes running as scheduled as long as it is safe to do so. In the case of minor inclement weather (i.e. rain or light snow) the class will run as scheduled. In the case of extreme weather (i.e. heavy snow, or other dangerous weather) the class will be rescheduled and you will be alerted via email. In the event that a class is postponed due to inclement weather, we will schedule a make-up date and alert all participants. In the event that your class is rescheduled due to inclement weather and you are unable to attend the make-up date, please let us know up to 48 hours after we notify you of the new date, and we will give you a gift certificate equal to the value of the postponed class, to use at a different class of your choosing.
